**I received this wine as a sample**
To say that I’m behind in blogging would be an understatement, but things in the “A Glass After Work” household have been a little crazy. I’m doing my best catch-up, since I have a lot of great wines, a few duds, and some exciting news to share.
Before I get to all of that, though, I need to finish posting about my much-needed staycation. As I mentioned in a previous post, I took the week before Labor Day off from work and spent the first half of the week reading and catching some much needed sunshine at our building’s rooftop pool. I read some fun science fiction, hardly checked emailed, and came back to the condo when it was time for Hubby to start cooking dinner. Since the oppressive heat continued during the first week of September, our dinners and my wine were white, light, and refreshing.
The Seven Heavenly Chardonnay (winery) was 100% Chardonnay grapes and had a medium straw yellow color. On the nose, there were lemons, limes, green apples, and mango with a hint of vanilla. In the mouth, there were green apples, limes, pink grapefruits, and a creamy taste that was reminiscent of mozzarella cheese, followed by a hint of pineapple, mango, and banana on the finish. The wine had a medium body and medium acidity.
Is this worth a glass after work? Definitely! If you see this wine in the store, grab it; you won’t be disappointed. At a suggested retail price of $14, this wine is an inexpensive white that has nice California characteristics without being too over the top in its oaky, buttery-ness. The Chardonnay was truly heavenly with the lemon sole pan-fried in sunflower oil and the fresh spinach salad that Hubby made for dinner.

Thanks for tip on Heavenly, from fellow DCist!
What vintage year was this?
It was a 2009. I haven’t seen the vintage around here yet, but I have my eye out for it.
(Bad blogging on my part, sorry about that!)
